DECstation 5000 Model 100 Series

This document is a service guide for the DECstation 5000 Model 100 Series workstation. It is designed to assist engineers in performing field maintenance by identifying and replacing failed field replaceable units (FRUs).

The guide is structured into three chapters: * Chapter 1: Troubleshooting Information - Describes error messages (test failures, console exceptions, and memory test errors), hardware addressing, and how to interpret error logs, diagnostic LEDs, and CPU/system registers. * Chapter 2: Troubleshooting Tools - Details the tools available for testing system components, including self-tests, console commands, test scripts, and comprehensive troubleshooting flowcharts for various subsystems like the monitor, SCSI controllers, and Ethernet interfaces. * Chapter 3: Part Numbers - Provides comprehensive tables listing part numbers for basic system components, internal drives, TURBOchannel option modules, monitors, input devices, cabling, and hardware documentation.
