Alpha 21164 Microprocessor

The Digital Semiconductor Alpha 21164 is a high-performance 64-bit RISC microprocessor designed for Windows NT desktop PCs and workstations. Utilizing 0.35 µm CMOS technology, it features a superscalar 4-way instruction issue design, on-chip L1 instruction and data caches (8KB each), and a 96KB on-chip L2 unified cache. It provides supercomputer-level performance, 100% Windows compatibility through translation technology, and supports high-performance memory interfaces and optional off-chip L3 cache.
