This Information Blitz addresses a potential hardware failure during the servicing of the DWLPB option.
It is possible to incorrectly insert the 3-pin fan connector into the power daughtercard, which applies +48 volts to the fault signal connector. This voltage can cause: * Permanent damage to the PCIA motherboard. * Intermittent or constant fan fault signals. * Failure of the 'Power OK' LED to light up, or failure to trigger when a fan is manually stopped.
When connecting the fans, ensure the wires emerge from the connector away from the grillwork and that the red wire is positioned at the closest edge, as shown in the provided diagram. If the reported symptoms occur or if incorrect connection is suspected, replace the fan (12-23609-19) immediately. Ensure any replacement fan has a date-code of 960710 or higher.
