Two DTSS Time Provider Radio Models Have a Y2K Problem

This document addresses a Year 2000 (Y2K) issue identified in the DTSS$PROVIDER.C sample program, which was shipped with DECnet/OSI V6.1, V6.2, V6.3, and DECnet-Plus V7.1. The issue affects two specific time receiver radio models: the Heath Company Model GC-1000 and the Hopf Electronics Receiver Model 6020. Because the sample program uses two-digit year fields, it fails to handle the transition to the year 2000 correctly for these receivers. The document provides the necessary software patches for DTSS$PROVIDER.C to fix this wraparound issue. Users are also advised to check with manufacturers for potential firmware updates for the affected hardware.
