SMARTengine/Alpha 21264 PCI/ISA SBC

This Information Blitz (TD 2730-CR) details an issue where SMARTengine/Alpha 21264 PCI/ISA Single-Board Computers (SBC) running Tru64 UNIX V4.0F intermittently stop responding to serial ports (COMA and/or COMB). While network pings continue and serial input may be accepted, serial output hangs. A mandatory patch has been developed by Compaq's Tru64 UNIX Support Engineering to resolve this. Users must ensure Tru64 UNIX V4.0F Patch Kit 2 or later is installed before applying this patch. To obtain the patch, customers must contact their service provider and escalate a Severity 2 IPMT case with the provided title, including 'sys_check -escalate' output.
