Field Change Order for DECstation 5000 Model 200 System Modules

This Field Change Order (FCO) details the required replacement of 70-26722-02 system modules with a revision of D02 or earlier in DECstation 5000 Model 200 systems. This FCO is multi-purposed to correct several identified issues, including:

• Lack of support for tablets, pucks, and styluses.
• SCSI firmware boot failures for RRD42, Rdat, and QIC devices.
• Unpredictable system hangs caused by SCSI or system state signal overshoots, or delay line component problems.
• Non-conformance with Turbochannel DMA specifications.
• Deterioration of system module etching due to corrosive foam strips in the enclosure.
• Foam strips failing U.L. safety ratings for contact with current-carrying components.

Implementation should be performed by replacing the existing system module and chassis enclosure with the contents of EQ Kit EQ-01627-01. Detailed installation steps, including system shutdown and component transfer, are provided in the document.
