SCSI Controller Transaction Error

This Field Change Order (FCO) addresses a rare potential issue in certain DEC3000 Alpha AXP workstations where a SCSI controller transaction error may occur in below-normal temperature environments. The error is caused by a condition that could theoretically lead to data corruption by resulting in an illegal command. The solution involves installing a provided MUP (Maintenance Update) that enhances parity protection on SCSI controller transactions. This FCO is customer-installable but should only be performed by Customer Services when requested by the customer.
