Random JMP Test

This document describes the Random JMP Test program (MAINDEC-08-DO4B-D), which is designed to verify the correct operation of the JMP instruction on the PDP-8 computer.

• Requirements: The program requires a PDP-8 with a Teletype and assumes that earlier diagnostic programs (08-D01, 08-D02, and 08-D03) have completed successfully.
• Operation: It uses a random number generator to select 'from' and 'to' jump addresses within the memory range 0400–7600. It utilizes the interrupt function to verify successful completion of the JMP instruction.
• Error Handling: If a jump fails or the interrupt sequence does not execute as expected, the program provides error printouts identifying the jump address, the intended destination, and the actual address stored in memory during the interrupt.
