JMP Self

This document provides the identification, machine requirements, loading, and starting procedures for the JMP Self diagnostic (MAINDEC-12-D1BA). The program is a worst-case test for core memory Read/Write gates on various PDP-8 computers, including the PDP-5, 8, 8/S, 8I, 8L, 12, and Linc-8. It details instructions for loading the program using the binary loader, setting up the computer for the test, and interpreting switch settings for error handling and reporting. Appendices include the listing for the PDP-8 mode read-in mode (RIM) loader and the diagnostic program code.
