PDP-8 Instruction Test EAE

This document provides the abstract, requirements, and starting procedures for the PDP-8 Instruction Test EAE (MAINDEC-08-D0BA). The test validates the divide overflow detection hardware, as well as the divide and multiply hardware, by using a pseudo-random number generator to produce test parameters. Results are verified against a software-simulated divide and multiply process. The document specifies that the EAE Type 182 option, a keyboard reader, and a teleprinter are required for the test.
