CPU Identification Program

This document contains the source code for a CPU identification program intended to be run on PDP-8 family hardware. The program uses a series of diagnostic tests that exploit known differences in how various PDP-8 models, such as the PDP-8/I, PDP-8/L, PDP-8/S, LINC-8, and newer chip-based systems like the DecMate, handle specific instructions, rotate operations, and timing. It includes detailed logic for distinguishing between these models while navigating console flag and timing constraints associated with different operating systems like P?S/8 and OS/8.
