This document describes the Braille-8 Computer Terminal System, a specialized computing solution designed to enable sightless individuals to interact with a computer. The system is built around the Digital PDP-8/F computer and uses a modified Teletype Corporation ASR-33 or KSR-33 teletypewriter. It provides Braille embossing on paper, allowing users to read information one line at a time. The system supports full- and half-duplex ASCII time-sharing communications and can function as a complete stand-alone computer. Key modifications to the teletypewriter include a custom head with pin combinations for embossing and the use of rubber tubing on the platen to increase resiliency. All modifications are reversible, allowing the device to be restored to its original standard configuration.
