Introducing Roundtable

The first Hardcopy-sponsored Roundtable meeting was held at the California Institute of Technology following a DECUS event. This forum brought together industry leaders, DEC users, and third-party manufacturers to discuss pertinent issues within the DEC community. A major focal point was the concern over DEC's move toward a 'closed' architecture, specifically concerning the new BI bus and related licensing policies. Attendees expressed apprehension that this shift would restrict third-party product development. The session also touched on manufacturing challenges with J-11 chips, and included commentary from representatives of DILOG, Unbound Inc., and Dyna Five Corp.
