DIAL-MS

This document provides technical instructions and notes for using a modified version of the DIAL-MS program and PIP utility, which has been updated to automatically access all 1600 (octal) blocks on LINCtape media marked with the "B" option of MARK12. It notes that while standard I/O routines were already capable of accessing blocks beyond 777, patches were applied to the DIAL editor, assembler, and PIP to remove previous limitations. The document includes a caveat regarding the use of this version on disk systems and provides guidance on interpreting error messages when copying between tapes of different capacities.
