PlotFFT

This document describes PLOTFFT (DECUS No. 12-22), a software program written for the PDP-12 (8K) to visualize spectra produced by the Continuous Fast Fourier Transform (CFFT) program.

Key Functionality:

• Display: Reads CFFT-generated data from LINCtape and displays spectra on the system scope.
• Interaction: Users can scale the amplitude on the scope, navigate through different spectra, and write single-precision data to a secondary LINCtape.
• Plotting: Provides the ability to generate hardcopy plots of the spectra on a digital plotter, with support for both manual and automatic plotting modes.
• Integration: The program is constructed from the binaries of RWFFT, HEADR, and XYGRID.

The guide includes detailed operating instructions, notes on scaling, automatic mode examples, and a program flow chart.
