Teletype Conversion Routines

Order Number: 12-8

This document, DECUS No. 12-8, provides documentation for a suite of LINC mode subroutines designed for the PDP-12 computer. The primary purpose of these routines is to facilitate standardized conversions between binary integers and decimal or octal ASCII teletype codes. The collection includes:

  • BINDEC: Routines for converting binary integers to decimal ASCII.
  • DECBIN: Routines for converting decimal ASCII input back into binary integers.
  • BINOCT: Routines for converting single-precision binary integers to octal ASCII.
  • OCTBIN: Routines for converting octal ASCII input to binary integers.

Additionally, the package contains the TELETYPE subroutine for reading/printing ASCII characters and SERINDEX for searching LAP6-DIAL indices. All programs are in LAP6-DIAL and are intended to be integrated into user programs in the current instruction field.
