Modified Readable Punch

This document describes the Modified Readable Punch program (DECUS No. 8-366) for the PDP-8 computer system. The program enables a user to type ASCII characters (code 240-337) on an ASR-33 teleprinter, which then produces a readable 8x6 matrix representation of the character on paper tape. The output can be directed to either a High Speed Punch or a Low Speed Punch, configurable via the computer's switch register. It is designed for use on a basic 4K PDP-8 and requires loading via standard BIN or RIM loaders.
