8k Focal Display

This document describes the 8K FOCAL DISPLAY (DECUS NO. FOCAL8-154), an overlay designed to extend the FOCAL 69 environment for users operating on an 8K PDP-8/i with a KV8/i interface and a VT01 storage tube display.

Key features include: * Plotting: Expanded vector-plotting capabilities, including relative, absolute, circular, and arc plotting, along with dashed lines and point-plotting modes. * Character Display: Enhanced character rendering with adjustable sizes and an 'EDIT SCREEN' command for direct text placement. * Interactive Control: Support for joystick-based cursor positioning, coordinate read-out, and an interrupt-bar for real-time program control. * Ease of Use: Special keyboard commands for switching between scope and teletype modes and modifying character sizes.

The manual also includes errata, details on expanding variable storage, loading/saving procedures for different systems, and a comprehensive survey of bit-coded modes for fine-grained control over the display hardware.
