Modifications to TSS/8 FOCAL

This document describes modifications made to the TSS/8 FOCAL programming language in early 1970. These updates introduce two primary features: the use of arithmetic expressions as targets in branching statements and the ability to save and retrieve FOCAL programs on disk. The patches are designed to occupy core areas previously assigned to unused routines, thereby preserving existing text and pushdown space. The document includes commands for saving and retrieving programs (LIBRARY SAVE and LIBRARY RETRIEVE), lists the necessary patches, and provides a sample program. A TSS/8 "SAVE" format tape is also included with the distribution.
