MQ Register

This document describes the M218 module, which is a 9-bit storage register with input gating and shifting logic. Two M218 modules are utilized in the PDP-15 central processor equipped with the EAE option to form an 18-bit MQ register. This register extends the AC shifter (M227) to support high-speed arithmetic operations such as shifting, normalizing, division, and multiplication, as well as double-precision results.
