PDP-12 Preventive Maintenance Procedures

This document provides standardized preventive maintenance (PM) procedures for the PDP-12 computer system, aimed at field service personnel to increase Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and decrease Mean Time To Repair (MTTR). The manual covers essential maintenance steps for major subsystems, including the power supply, console, modules and cabling, tape drives (TU56), system-level diagnostics, and peripheral controllers (TC12, VC12, VR12, VR14, AD12, KW12, EM12, MC12, DR12, KE12, DM12, and KF12). Each section follows a structured format: Equipment Required, Material Required, Inspection, Voltage Checks, Adjustments and Maintenance, Diagnostic Testing, and Cleaning and Touchup. It also includes an appendix covering Chain Monitor Diagnostic System (CMDS) operating procedures and a formal PM Procedure Checklist.
