High Resolution Mass Spectrometer

The HIRES-MS system is designed to interface with and acquire data from a high-resolution mass spectrometer. The software consists of four main program modules: one for data acquisition (HRACQ) and three for data processing (HRMS1, HRMS2, and HRMS3) using FORTRAN IV. The acquisition module records peak envelopes on mass storage, while the processing programs handle peak detection, centroid determination, intensity normalization, mass calibration using standards (such as PFK), and elemental composition calculations. The manual provides detailed instructions on the data acquisition process, parameter selection, using the processing programs, and building the necessary loader images for system configuration.
