Disklook

DISKLOOK is a small utility program designed for a PDP-8 computer equipped with a 32-K DF32 disk drive. It enables users to perform the following operations via the on-line teletype:

• Examination: Read and display the contents of any disk location in octal format.
• Alteration: Modify the contents of a specific disk location.
• Examine-Next: Conveniently move to the next sequential disk address.
• Search: Perform positive or negative searches for specific data patterns within defined disk address limits, utilizing a user-specified search mask.

The utility is designed to occupy memory locations 200 through 777 of any memory field and provides error reporting for illegal characters or disk-related issues.
