Binary-to-Binary-Coded-Decimal Conversion

This document describes the PDP-8 subroutine Digital-8-15-U-Sym, which is an extension of the Digital-8-14-U-Sym routine. It provides functionality to convert binary integers ranging from 0 to 4095, stored in a single computer word, into four binary-coded-decimal (BCD) characters packed into two computer words. The routine requires a standard PDP-8 and utilizes 53 decimal storage locations. Detailed information is provided regarding the calling sequence, memory format for results, execution time (ranging from 304.5 to 328.5 microseconds), and an annotated assembly language listing for implementation.
