This document introduces the RD family of 5.25-inch Winchester fixed-disk drives, designed for desk and office storage needs. The family includes the full-height RD54 (159 MB) and RD53 (71 MB) drives, alongside the half-height RD32 (42 MB) and RD31 (20 MB) drives. All models conform to Digital Storage Architecture (DSA) to ensure compatibility and investment protection. The document also highlights the RQDX3 controller, which connects these drives to Q-bus systems, providing features like overlapped seeking, error correction (ECC), and bad block replacement for improved reliability and performance.
