RC25 Disk Subsystem

The RC25 Disk Subsystem is a 52-Mbyte mass storage unit that combines a 26-Mbyte fixed Winchester disk and a 26-Mbyte removable disk cartridge on a single spindle. This design provides high reliability, fast performance (20–35 ms average seek time), and convenient data interchange and backup. The subsystem includes an intelligent controller with onboard microdiagnostics and supports the Mass Storage Control Protocol (MSCP) for compatibility with Digital Storage Architecture. Its compact, low-power design is available in tabletop and rack-mount configurations, making it suitable for a variety of UNIBUS and Q-BUS computing environments.
