This document introduces the use of CDROM (Compact Disc-Read Only Memory) by Digital for the distribution of software and documentation. By consolidating the VMS operating system, over 100 layered applications, and more than 30,000 pages of technical documentation onto a single disc, Digital offers a cost-effective, tamper-resistant, and efficient storage solution. Users can access this information via the RRD40 CD Reader and the DECwindows Bookreader application on VAX workstations, which features multi-window display, integrated text and graphics, and automated cross-referencing to enhance user productivity.
