Overview
DECnet-Micro/RSX allows a Micro/RSX system to function as a non-routing (end) node within a DECnet Phase IV network. It supports communication via synchronous/asynchronous lines and Ethernet.
Key Capabilities
- Task-to-Task Communication: Enables user programs in various languages to exchange data.
- Network Resource Access: Includes file transfer utilities, remote file access, and network command terminal support (CTERM).
- Management: Provides down-line system loading, upline dumping, and down-line task loading for RSX-11S nodes.
- Network Management: Utilizes the Network Control Program (NCP) for monitoring, control, and testing.
- Communications: Supports DDCMP for point-to-point and multipoint operation, as well as Ethernet connectivity.
Requirements
- Requires Micro/RSX Base Kit.
- Hardware requires a Micro/PDP-11/23 or 11/73 processor, a minimum of 16KW additional memory (plus 3KW for Ethernet), and 4000 additional disk blocks.
- Supports specific communications hardware (e.g., DMV11, DLV11, DEQNA).
