DECnet-11M-PLUS

Overview

DECnet-11M-PLUS Version 4.0 is a Phase IV network product designed for the RSX-11M-PLUS operating system. It allows systems to act as either routing or non-routing (end) nodes within a DECnet computer network, supporting communication through various hardware interfaces including Ethernet, serial lines, and X.25 circuits via RSX-11 P.S.I./M-PLUS.

• Network Functionality: Provides task-to-task communication, network file operations, resource sharing, and remote command terminal support (via CTERM and LAT).
• Routing: Supports adaptive routing and Area Routing (up to 63 areas with 1023 nodes per area).
• Management: Includes the Network Control Program (NCP) for displaying statistics, controlling components, and logging network events.
• Utilities: Offers file transfer utilities (supporting both FCS and RMS files) and remote job submission.

• Prerequisite: RSX-11M-PLUS (Version 4.0 minimum).
• Memory: Minimum requirements range from 22KW (end node) to 36KW (routing node with P.S.I.).
