Digital Technical Journal

This journal issue provides a comprehensive technical examination of VAXcluster systems, focusing on both the CI-bus based VAXcluster and the Ethernet-based Local Area VAXcluster. The collection of papers covers the core architecture, including the System Communication Architecture (SCA), the VAX/VMS distributed lock manager for resource synchronization, and the design of the distributed file system. It also details the hardware and software mechanisms that allow these systems to provide high availability and easy extensibility.
