Program Format for PDP-1 Maintenance Programs

This document, dated September 26, 1961, outlines standardized symbols and program formats for writing maintenance and checkout programs for the PDP-1. To ensure consistency among the large number of personnel developing these routines, the memorandum specifies standard FRAP language symbols for common operations such as program start, end, error/program halts, temporary storage, and table beginnings. It also provides a mandatory structure for the start and end of diagnostic routines, accompanied by a comprehensive, annotated sample program illustrating these requirements.
