AlphaServer Management Station

This document details the procedures for installing and setting up the AlphaServer Management Station (AMS) and the AlphaServer Management Utility (AMU) software on a workstation running Tru64 UNIX version 5.1B or higher. It includes:

• System Prerequisites: Hardware (RAM, disk space, network cards) and software (Java SDK, Netscape/IE browsers) requirements.
• Prior Version Removal: Steps to identify and remove existing AMS or AMU installations before proceeding with a new installation.
• Installation Methods: Step-by-step procedures to install from CD-ROM or from a web-downloaded kit.
• Remote Access: Configuration requirements for remotely accessing the AMS from a PC.

Note: The software includes configuration and log file preservation, but backups are recommended before installation.
