Boot Commands for DECstation/DECsystem 5000 Model 200 Series Processors

Due to firmware updates on DECstation/DECsystem 5000 Model 200 series processors that affect TURBOchannel support, existing boot documentation is no longer accurate. This guide provides updated procedures for:

• Determining correct slot and device numbers for boot devices using the cnfg command.
• Configuring console environmental variables (boot and haltaction) for various boot scenarios.
• Booting from system disks, alternate disks, kernels, TK50 tapes, CDROMs, and the network.
• Proper boot sequences for both standard operations and during system installation, including handling multiple SCSI or network controllers.
