TOPS-10 Software

This document is the official software installation guide for the TOPS-10 operating system, updated in October 1988. It provides step-by-step instructions for site administrators and system programmers on how to install, upgrade, customize, and start the TOPS-10 system, including the GALAXY batch and spooling subsystem, on KL and KS processor-based systems.

• Building the Monitor and Tailoring: Covers generating a customized monitor using MONGEN, assembling monitor sources, and tailoring the GALAXY system.
• Supplementary Information: Contains detailed appendices on startup options (ONCE), modifying the monitor, setting scheduler parameters, and creating bootable front-end media.

The document includes extensive technical appendices detailing configuration symbols, scheduler parameters, and error message logs, alongside procedures for maintaining system authorization files via the REACT program.
