cURL and libcURL for OpenVMS I64 and Alpha

Overview

This document describes the port of the cURL command-line tool and libcURL API to the OpenVMS I64 and Alpha operating systems. This release is based on the 7.65.0 Open Source distribution.

Key Information

  • Requirements: Requires OpenVMS 8.4-1H1 and HP or VSI TCP/IP Services.
  • Installation: Distributed as a PCSI kit; installed using the $ PRODUCT INSTALL CURL command.
  • Configuration: Instructions are provided for setting up start-up and shutdown procedures in SYSTARTUP_VMS.COM and SYSHUTDWN.COM.
  • Development: Provides guidance on linking the LIBCURL shareable image to application code and handling mixed-case symbols using compiler options.
  • Notes: Warns users not to install both the VSI kit and the GNV-compatible kit simultaneously.
