TOPS-10 PSI

This document is a technical user guide for the TOPS-10 PSI (Packetnet System Interface) software. It is intended for experienced FORTRAN-10 and MACRO-10 programmers who need to implement data transfers over Public Packet Switching Networks (PPSN).

The guide is organized into three parts: - Part I (Introduction): Covers the basics of packet switching, virtual circuits, and the CCITT X.25, X.3, X.28, and X.29 recommendations. - Part II (X.25 Reference Guide): Details the TOPS-10 PSI gateway software, including access routine functions, port states, and the programming environment for SVCs (Switched Virtual Circuits) and PVCs (Permanent Virtual Circuits). It provides specific guidance for FORTRAN-10 and MACRO-10 subroutine calls. - Part III (X.29 Reference Guide): Discusses terminal access to a TOPS-10 host using the X.29 software, including sample dialogues and command descriptions.

The manual also includes extensive appendices providing sample FORTRAN-10 and MACRO-10 programs, bibliographies, and glossaries of packet-switching terminology.
