DECnet-20

The DECnet-20 User's Guide is a detailed reference for application programmers and terminal users operating in a DECnet-20, version 3 environment under the TOPS-20 operating system. The document is divided into three parts:

• Part I: Provides a system overview, covering the DECnet structure, capabilities, and the programmer and user interfaces.
• Part II: Serves as a programmer's guide, detailing the mechanisms for establishing network connections, performing data transfers, handling interrupt messages, and closing connections. It includes numerous MACRO-20 code examples for using monitor calls like GTJFN, OPENF, MTOPR, SOUT, SINR, and CLOSF.
• Part III: Functions as a terminal user's guide, explaining specific TOPS-20 commands (INFORMATION, SET LOCATION) and the Network File Transfer (NFT) utility for managing files across network nodes.

The manual also includes appendices detailing disconnect/reject codes, DECnet object types, and a glossary of networking terms.
