Volume Shadowing for OpenVMS

Overview

Volume Shadowing for OpenVMS is a system integrated product that implements RAID Level 1, providing disk mirroring to ensure high data availability on VAX and Alpha systems. By creating shadow sets consisting of two or three disks, the software allows data to remain accessible even if a single disk or controller fails.

• Transparency: The software combines physical disks into a single virtual disk, appearing transparent to applications and users.
• Performance: Read operations are optimized for performance, and write operations are duplicated across all shadow set members in parallel.
• Flexibility: Shadow sets can span multiple CPUs and controllers within an OpenVMS Cluster environment. Members can be added or removed without disrupting system operations.

Requirements and Licensing
