DECamds Features

This document details new features added to the DECamds Version 7.0 system monitoring software. Key enhancements include:

• System Overview Window: New fields added for tracking the number of processes in CPU queues, operating system version, and hardware model.
• Single Disk Summary Window: A new display providing node-by-node summary data for disks, useful for identifying high I/O rates or inconsistent disk states across nodes.
• Cluster Windows: New dedicated windows for monitoring VMScluster status, including:
  • Cluster Transition/Overview Summary: Displays VMScluster state information and member node status.
  • SCA Summary: Details virtual circuit connections and system application communication.
  • NISCA Summary: Provides real-time statistics and troubleshooting data for the NISCA transport protocol across Ethernet or FDDI LANs.

The guide includes instructions on how to access these windows, descriptions of the data fields provided, and new event signals (such as LOVOTE and LOSTVC) designed to help administrators diagnose network and cluster issues.
