RMS Journaling for OpenVMS

This document provides the Software Product Description (SPD) for RMS Journaling for OpenVMS, Version 7.0, covering both OpenVMS VAX and OpenVMS Alpha architectures. RMS Journaling helps maintain data integrity by providing three primary methods of journaling: After-image (AI) to redo modifications for recovery, Before-image (BI) to undo modifications to return to a previous state, and Recovery unit (RU) to ensure atomic transaction integrity using DECdtm services.
