The HP Galaxy Software Architecture on OpenVMS Alpha allows for the dynamic partitioning of hardware resources—including CPUs, memory, and I/O—across multiple instances of the OpenVMS operating system on a single AlphaServer. This provides enhanced scalability, availability, and flexibility for demanding workloads such as database servers and data warehousing. The architecture supports shared-memory communication between instances and includes a configuration utility for management. This document covers feature descriptions, hardware and software requirements for supported AlphaServer models, and licensing guidelines for the OpenVMS Galaxy System Integrated Product.
