Volume Shadowing for OpenVMS

Volume Shadowing for OpenVMS is a system-integrated product that implements RAID Level 1, or disk mirroring, for Alpha and VAX processor families. It maintains redundant data copies across a 'shadow set' of up to three disks, ensuring continued access if a single volume or controller fails. Key features include:

• Transparency: Operations are transparent to users and applications, appearing as a single virtual disk.
• Cluster Support: Works across OpenVMS Clusters with various storage interconnects (DSA, Fibre Channel, SCSI).
• Minicopy: A new feature in Version 7.3 that uses write bitmaps for streamlined recovery of shadow set members after removal, minimizing downtime.
• Management: Supports adding/removing disks without interrupting operations.
• Licensing: Available via capacity or per-disk licenses.

This software requires OpenVMS Version 7.3 and is managed via the License Management Facility (LMF).
