THE APPENDIX

This document is an appendix providing reference tables for character encoding and data representation, commonly used in early Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) computer systems. It includes:

• ASCII Character Set: A comprehensive table mapping 7-bit octal codes to characters and providing operational remarks (e.g., control codes).
• Card Punch Codes: Reference tables (Table A-1, A-2, and A-3) for mapping ASCII and DEC character sets to IBM/DEC card punch patterns.
• Radix-50 Character Set: A reference for the Radix-50 character encoding, including translation tables for mapping single, second, and third character positions to their respective octal equivalents.
