Proposed EAE Instructions for PDP-11

This document outlines a proposal for adding Extended Arithmetic Element (EAE) instructions to the PDP-11 computer architecture. The EAE enhancements introduce arithmetic capabilities, including:

• Multiply and Divide: Single and double precision multiplication and division operations.
• Rotate/Shift Group: A set of instructions for logical and arithmetic shifts, rotations with carry (for both words and bytes), and normalization.

The proposal defines the data structures for single and double precision signed quantities and details the register usage for operations and result storage.
