KFMSA Module

This document outlines the procedures for installing and configuring the KFMSA module, which acts as an XMI-to-DSSI storage adapter. It covers:

• Hardware Installation: Step-by-step procedures for installing the module into VAX 6000 and VAX 9000 systems, including cabling and backplane configurations.
• Configuration: Detailed instructions on setting physical addresses and software parameters using utilities like PARAMS, EVCXE, and EVCXF.
• Diagnostics: Overview of the Power-On Self-Test (POST) and other diagnostic programs available for checking module and storage device integrity.
• System Booting: Instructions for booting the VMS operating system from a DSSI device connected through a KFMSA module.
• Firmware Updates: Guidance on using the EEPROM update utility (EVUCM) to maintain module firmware.
